- <p> Old Presidents may retire, but they don't fade away. At
- least not Jimmy Carter. He travels widely, and in the past two
- weeks has joined Willie Nelson at a gig for the homeless,
- played host at a conference on Latin America, and been a guest
- at a seminar on the Middle East. Some observers suspect Carter
- is angling to head an Arab-Israeli peace conference -- if one
- takes place -- and beyond that, for the Nobel Peace Prize. Quite
- a comeback for a man who left the U.S. with the memory of
- hostages in Iran.
